Questions or privacy requests? Email hello@bookofodds.com.
This policy covers our practices. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies.

Please do not include passwords, payment-card details, government identification numbers, or sensitive medical or financial information in messages to us.
[OWNER CHECK: Remove fields not actually collected. Confirm whether search terms, full IP addresses, newsletter opens/clicks, spam-screening data, and affiliate transaction details are retained. This category table is not evidence that every listed field is collected.]
3. How we use information
We use information as relevant to:
- Operate, maintain, and protect the website.
- Respond to messages, corrections, and privacy requests.
- Send the newsletter you request and manage subscriptions.
- Understand how the site is used and improve its content and usability.
- Display and measure advertising and attribute affiliate referrals.
- Detect spam, abuse, fraud, and technical problems.
- Keep records required for legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Contacting us does not by itself subscribe you to marketing emails.
4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies can remember preferences, support site functions, measure visits, and help deliver or measure advertising. Some are set by our service providers or partners rather than directly by us.
Analytics helps us understand website activity, such as which pages people visit and how they reach the site. Advertising services may receive online identifiers and information about visits and ad interactions. Depending on the services and settings used, this information may be used to select advertising based on activity across websites.
Some disclosures for advertising may qualify as a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged for the information itself.
[REQUIRED BEFORE PUBLICATION: Identify actual analytics and ad partners, the information disclosed, whether ads are contextual or personalized, and whether sale/sharing/targeted advertising occurs. Add the real consent and opt-out instructions and any required state notice. Do not replace this note with an unsupported “we never sell your data” claim.]
Your browser may let you block or delete cookies. Blocking some storage may affect site features. Browser controls do not necessarily stop every type of information collection or replace any rights available under applicable law.
[CONDITIONAL COPY, ONLY AFTER IMPLEMENTATION: “Use Privacy choices in the footer to review or change your settings. Where required by applicable law, we honor recognized browser-based opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, for covered processing associated with that browser or device.” Verify the control, signal handling, and scope before using this wording.]
5. Affiliate links and embedded videos
Some links are affiliate links. If you follow one and complete a qualifying action, we may receive a commission. The merchant or affiliate network may use a referral identifier, cookies, and information about the transaction to attribute the referral. Information you provide on another website is governed by that website’s policies.
We embed videos provided by YouTube. Loading or interacting with an embedded player may allow Google or YouTube to receive technical information, including your IP address and information about your browser and interaction with the player. Processing depends on the embed configuration, your choices, and your Google settings.
Read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.
6. Who receives information
Information may be disclosed to:
- Providers that support hosting, security, analytics, email delivery, form processing, and other website operations.
- Advertising partners, affiliate networks, and embedded-content providers as described above.
- Professional advisers or authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, or address abuse.
- Parties involved in a proposed or completed business transfer, subject to applicable safeguards and legal requirements.
Some providers process information on our behalf; others determine their own uses under their policies. The provider details below should identify those roles accurately.
[REQUIRED PROVIDER TABLE: Add actual provider name, purpose, information handled, privacy-policy link, and applicable retention/settings for hosting, analytics, ads, newsletter, contact processing/spam screening, affiliate networks, and consent management. YouTube/Google is the only specific provider confirmed here.]
7. Retention and security
We retain personal information for the purposes described in this policy, taking account of the nature of the information, our relationship with you, legal obligations, and legitimate operational needs. Retention can differ between messages, subscription records, website logs, and partner systems.
We may retain limited unsubscribe information to avoid sending further marketing emails. Deletion requests can be subject to exceptions permitted by applicable law, including recordkeeping and security needs.
[REQUIRED: Confirm actual retention periods or meaningful category-specific criteria, including provider defaults, backups, and deletion processes. Do not invent short deletion promises.]
No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive information through ordinary email or our contact form.
[OWNER CHECK: Describe only the security measures actually implemented; do not claim encryption, audits, certifications, or restricted access without confirmation.]
8. Your choices and privacy rights
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the message. You may also email hello@bookofodds.com for help.
Depending on where you live and whether the applicable law covers our activities, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; opt out of certain advertising or data disclosures; or appeal a denied request.
To make a request, email hello@bookofodds.com with the subject Privacy request and describe what you would like us to do. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or an agent’s authority. Please do not send identity documents unless we request them through an appropriate process.
We will handle requests within applicable legal requirements. If an applicable law provides an appeal right, you can reply to our decision with the subject Privacy appeal. We will explain the outcome and any further options required by law. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
[REQUIRED: Confirm which jurisdictions and business thresholds apply, establish the response/appeal workflow, and add jurisdiction-specific notices, time limits, complaint routes, and opt-out mechanisms where required. This general section is not a substitute for those notices.]
9. Children and international visitors
Book of Odds is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact hello@bookofodds.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
[OWNER CHECK: Confirm audience and collection practices, including any applicable protections for teenagers. This statement does not exempt the site from children’s privacy requirements.]
Service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different privacy laws.
[REQUIRED: Confirm processing locations. If EEA/UK or other international requirements apply, add appropriate legal bases, transfer safeguards, representative details if required, and complaint rights. Do not treat visiting the site as consent to international transfers.]
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our practices or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
