Punxsutawney Phil the 'official' groundhog of Groundhog Day. He is located in Punxsutawney, PA. On February 2, Phil comes out of his burrow on Gobbler's
Knob and makes a prediction about the weather for the next six weeks.
If there is sun on February 2, and Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, then there will be six more weeks of winter according to legend. But, if Phil does not see his shadow then it is believed there will be an early spring.
