Definitions
Kidney diseaseRespondents were asked if they had been told in the last 12 months by a doctor or other health professional that they had weak or failing kidneys (excluding kidney stones, bladder infections, or incontinence).
AdultA person aged 18 or older.
Non-HispanicThe term non-Hispanic refers to persons who trace their origins or descent to a place other than Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Spanish speaking Central and South America countries, and other Spanish cultures. People who identify their ethnicity as non-Hispanic may be of any race.
BlackThis race category refers to individuals who report being only black or African American, when asked to select all that apply from the race categories of white, black or African American, American Indian and Alaska native, Asian, or Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander.
