As the United States as a nation has gotten fatter and the prevalence of diabetes has grown exponentially, more and more people are suffering kidney failure.
The relatively rapid and ubiquitous rise in the prevalence of diabetes parallels another concerning public health trend—the marked increase in rates of obesity.
