Welcome to Book of Odds!

Our staff is extremely excited to launch Book of Odds. All of us have been working for months on this project – and most of us for years. We are excited to finally share it with you.

Book of Odds is designed to be a community – a community with a Welcome sign and a population that is always growing. We want our users to feel at home – to actively engage with our content, give us feedback, and send us ideas. Your participation will help grow Book of Odds and make us better.

Book of Odds has a staff of about 25 people – give or take. Our office is in an old building in downtown Boston, the kind of place that still has an elevator requiring a human operator (that’s Henry – he’s been here since 1984). When Henry’s busy or it’s past five o’clock, we take the stairs. We’re used to walking – we all live within the Boston-metro area and some us even walk to work every day.

We have a few senior staff member who have had long and successful career ( check out their bios here), but for the most part we are a young organization consisting of people fresh out of college and/or grad school. We come from a variety of schools – Boston University, Columbia, M.I.T., Northeastern, Dartmouth, just to name a few.

Our office is very open. Most staff share workstations with one another. We find this leads to creative discussions and more teamwork than stuffy old cubicles. And you can learn a lot about your coworkers from how cluttered or barren their workspace is. The same openness applies to the senior staff. Office doors stay open, so anyone is free to ask a question, make a suggestion, or just say “hi”.

Now that you know a little bit about us, we want to know about you! We can’t wait to hear what you think of the site and all the hard work we’ve put in over the past 3 years.
