Jon Pitts-Wiley

Jonathan Pitts-Wiley is a son of Rhode Island and a Capricorn from the days when that sort of thing used to mean something. When he isn't busy writing, he enjoys wondering what happened to the halcyon days of college, working in theatre, and imagining what kind of dad he is going to be.

Emily Lodish

Born in Milwaukee, raised in Maryland, and a brief stint in Memphis. More recently, Emily spent three years abroad as a reporter for The Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh. While she misses riding a motorbike to interviews and living in a treehouse, she does enjoy the fact that cannons are fired with regularity outside her office on Boston Harbor, and that people in New England can generally handle their snow. Her weakness? Sour cherries.

Rachel

Rachel is a third year medical student and vagabond. She speaks really bad Mandarin and can understand Cantonese and a little bit of Burmese. Her favorite places include the pyramids of Egypt and Te Anu in New Zealand. Currently she is confined to the four walls of a hospital and unsure of what she will be when she gets out—maybe a surgeon, maybe a pediatrician, maybe an ER doc. Proudest goal to date: bungee jumping from Nevis, the second highest bungee jump in the world. Goal for the future: a stint with Doctors Without Borders. All names in her blog have been changed to protect patient confidentiality.

Aaron Santos

Aaron Santos is a physicist, author, and blogger. He currently works as a postdoc at the University of Michigan. He is the author of How Many
Licks, or How to Estimate Damn Near Anything, a humorous collection of approximations: how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop, how many people are having sex at this instant, how long it would take to dig your way out of jail with a spoon, etc.

Similar estimations can be found on his blog at diaryofnumbers.blogspot.com. He lives in Ann Arbor with his lovely and highly talented wife Anna Lackaff.
